Year 1994
Professional debut in France. Early reputation built on calm presence, sharp technique, and strong work ethic.
Year 1998
Move to Switzerland and rapid rise with HC Lugano, contributing to a national title and establishing European credentials.
Year 2002
North American chapter begins: entry to the NHL and one of the few French-trained goalies to reach the league.
Year 2005–2006
Breakout with Montréal; league-leading save-percentage honors highlight his status among top goaltenders.
Year 2007
First French-born player to participate in an NHL All-Star Game – played the third period in the 2007 All-Star Game in Dallas.
Year 2010
Stanley Cup champion with Chicago – first French-born player to have his name engraved on the Cup.
Year 2012
Return to Switzerland with Lausanne and transition toward coaching and mentoring as his playing career winds down.
Year 2023
Inducted into the IIHF Hall of Fame in recognition of his international impact and career achievements.
Year 2025
Launch of CHC (Cristobal Huet Consulting). Official start of a modern, human-first program for goalies – built on years of prior mentoring.
